2026 Spring Break Work Experience Opportunity

Are you interested in learning more about Civil construction? Looking for an opportunity to get experience in the field? If so, we want to hear from you! We are excited to be rolling out our Spring Break Work Experience Program for ages 17+ students. This will give you on the job training and experience in civil construction.

Opportunity Overview

March 16-27, 2026 12 spots available $22 per hour

This position is well-suited for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the civil construction industry. Students will complete the Green Hard Hat Training course through the Regehr Contracting School of Construction prior to arriving on site. Once assigned to a project, students will work under the supervision of a foreman and assist with a variety of tasks, providing hands-on exposure to the different roles within civil construction. Students will start and finish each day with their assigned crew and gain a clear understanding of what a typical day on a civil construction site looks like. Successful placements may lead to future summer employment opportunities.

Work hours are 7 am – 3 pm, five days a week. Students must have their own transport to and from our office (6547 Mt Lehman Road, Abbotsford).

Safety-First Training

Students will complete Green Hard Hat Training, WHMIS Training, Site Safety Awareness, Mobile Equipment Awareness, and Ground Disturbance Awareness.

Hands-On Jobsite Experience

Work directly on active civil construction projects and gain real, practical experience alongside experienced crews.

Paid Industry Exposure

Earn $22 per hour while learning what a career in civil construction actually looks like and gaining invaluable experience.

Pathway to Future Employment

Strong performers may be considered for future summer or long-term employment opportunities with the company.

Students are required to wear steel-toed boots, long pants or jeans, and a shirt with a minimum of four-inch sleeve. Clothing suitable for all weather conditions is essential, as work continues rain or shine. Regehr Contracting will supply hard hats, safety vests, and any specialized equipment required.
